Okay…so by now I have got to be one of the worst bloggers ever. It has been about a month since my last posting and that’s just sad. To be honest though, the only interesting thing that has happened to me lately is the purchase of my MacBook computer and iPod. Matt’s been away on business trips lately so we really haven’t gone anywhere. The lady that works in the office with me had surgery so she’s been out for about 3 weeks and, for three weeks, I’ve been doing the work of two people. By the time I get home at night I’m too worn out to move (other than doing laundry and such)…much less think. My MacBook comes in today, though, so hopefully I will have something interesting to talk about for the next little while. I’m sure Matt will have his comments regarding the MacBook and its performance as well.

Well…we both realized the other day that we have yet to write about Ty. We recently took some pictures of the little man at his first birthday party and would like to share those with you. Ty turned 1 year old on Monday, July 17. He has learned the words “hi”, “bye (he waves too…even though it’s a backwards wave)”, “Rock (Matt’s dog)”, and “Da Da”. He spits out food he doesn’t like, hates sitting in a car seat, can take a few steps without holding onto anything, and has this quirky little smirk he does before he does something he knows he’s not supposed to do. Ty loves his Uncle Matt and I’m sure will grow more fond of him when he gets older and all he wants to do is play outside. I love taking pictures of Ty. I think I could spend a whole day doing nothing but capturing images of him on camera. Please take a look and enjoy.

Okay…so I’ve fallen in love with the new laptop by Apple…the MacBook. I’ve been wanting a Mac laptop for about a year or so and now that this one will run both Mac programs and PC programs I’m just dying to have one. Plus, if you buy a MacBook and an iPod nano before September 16 using the educational discount you can get a full refund for your nano. Love it! Love it! Well, my sister emailed me the other day to tell me her Dell laptop had fried. She needed to buy a new computer and asked what Matt and I would recommend. So, I gave my recommendation of the MacBook with the thought that my brother-in-law would never go for it since they’ve never had Macs before. They liked it…A LOT! My sister left me a “nasty” voicemail on my cell phone Wednesday night saying they had ordered a MacBook and even gotten the educational discount through my brother-in-law’s brother so they were getting the nano too. I’m “green with envy” as they say and am still dying to go out and buy my MacBook. On a good note, I will get to check it out before I buy. Moral to the story: Don’t tell your older sister what you like until after you’ve bought yours or she’ll steal it out from under you and you’ll have to be second in line for the toy!

I hope everyone enjoyed the Memorial Day holiday this past Monday.I hope everyone enjoyed the Memorial Day holiday this past Monday. It marked the first day of summer and our temperature gauges are definitely proving summer has arrived. Matt and I spent our Memorial Day at the local Renaissance festival with some of our friends and had a good time. The pictures from that adventure will be coming soon. One of the things that always marks summer in my life is teaching Vacation Bible School. I have taught VBS for 6 years and I love it more and more each year. This year, like last year, I will be teaching Kindergarteners. Our Bible Schools starts this Sunday, June 4 and runs through Thursday, June 8. Please be in prayer for me and my team as we teach 4 and 5 year olds the good news of Jesus Christ!

Weston is a 4 year old going on 35. You would have to know him to know how neat of a kid he is. I hope the pictures from his t-ball game will give you some idea of his personality. Anyway…the day Matt and I decided to go to one of Weston’s t-ball games it was 50 degrees outside and raining. We thought we’d lost our minds until we looked out on the field to see the short stop with his glove in the air, hopping up and down, singing to himself. One of the outfielder’s hat was so big she couldn’t have seen to catch the ball if it had come her way…if she could have caught it in the first place. We stayed until the game ended and loved it. Enjoy the pictures!

Last Thursday, Matt and I went to the house of one of the older couples in our church to pick strawberries. I had never picked strawberries before, but they are my favorite fruit so I thought we’d give it a try. After climbing over 2 barbed wire fences, going around two barns, and slipping in the mud, we finally found the strawberry patch. We only picked about a gallon and then it started to rain so we left. Our intentions when we made plans to pick the strawberries was to leave them for the older couple…to save them some work…so we left them hanging on their door handle (they are always leaving us produce on our door handle or on top of our car). Yesterday at church I got griped at by both of them for not taking the strawberries home with me. Oh well….so much for being generous…next time I’m taking my strawberries home with me!!!

You can choose which path you want to take. Taking the trails below the mounds, we stayed close to the river as we worked our way through the spider webs and bugs to get to the waterfalls. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and we are all, especially me, really proud of him. It was a very, very, very long graduation (they split the graduation in two and there were still close to 1,000 students at the morning graduation) and the speaker, as always, was very, very, very boring and would not be quiet. None the less, he has graduated and he is on to bigger and better things.
