To anyone who is interested, I recently published a tutorial that switch from using the DD-WRT firmware to Tomato firmware. Check it out at http://www.mandladventures.com/2008/12/03/how-to-change-your-wrt54gl-firmware-from-dd-wrt-to-tomato/.

Hey there. I just flashed my WRT54GL with the std v2.4 sp1..

But there are other versions out there
Which ones would you recommend?

dd-wrt.v24_nokaid_generic.bin
dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin
dd-wrt.v24_voip_generic.bin
dd-wrt.v24_vpn_generic.bin

Iam gonna give the micro and mini version a pass as it isn't recommend. Is it a good idea to upgrade my other Buffalo router to the latest version of DD-WRT?

Hey Evan. I do not know of a guide no how to switch from tomato to DD-WRT. I'm sure one exists somewhere but I haven't ran across one yet. You may be able to find a guide on how to revert from tomato back to the stock WRT54GL firmware. Then you would just need to follow a guide to go install DD-WRT normally.

Hope this provides some help!

Please let me know if you find any directions as I would be interested in seeing them. Thanks!
