Spotted Google Street Maps Car in Nashville!

On my way home from work I spotted a Google Street Maps Car or at least that what I think it was. The car had a funky contraption mounted on the roof, California license plates, a GPS or similar device on the dash, and a Google logo on the door. This is one of the rare times where I wish I had a camera phone. I drove beside the car for some time in slow traffic so I got a pretty good look.

At first I thought you may be able to spot me on a Google Map using Street View than I came to the realization that this is not likely as it was dusk when I spotted the car. I doubt they capture dark images unless they’re wanting to do something like show day/night views of the roads. Who knows with Google.

I’ll be sure to check Google Maps when the roll at the Street View of Nashville to see if I can find my car. I did a quick Google search and I’m not the only to spot one of these cars in Nashville. Anthony Trumbo has a short write up and picture of a car he spotted in Nashville. It may be the same car because it looks really similar. I didn’t see a Google logo on the door of the car his picture but then again I only saw the passenger door and his picture only shows the driver’s door.
