Pixar Cars Digg

A few days ago I was checking out Sporadic Nonsense and noticed a post about how to turn your car into a Pixar car with a cool example picture. The site then linked to the orginal resource which included detailed instructions and multiple examples. I thought it looked pretty cool so I posted it on Digg under the design category. I hoped it would get a little bit of attention (nothing I ever digg gets much). To my surprise it got a ton of diggs within hours of being posted. In less than 24 hours it had 1948 of diggs. Upon last check, the article had 2572 diggs. Since so many other people thought it was cool I thought I would share the link on my blog and try to get connected with any of my blogs readers (yeah all you wonderful folks!) who also use Digg.

I wish I had a picture to share of my own car with the Pixar “Cars” effect on it, but I haven’t had a chance to work on it. However, if you decide to create your own picture post a link to it in via the comments below. A word of warning, some digg users didn’t like the tutorial. They thought it was simple copying and pasting (I don’t think it’s that simple). Some others thought the whole car should look animated (not a hybrid of animation and realism). Nonetheless, take it as it is and enjoy.

By the way, my digg member name is Mithrill if you want to add me as a friend. A member of the Godbit forum had suggested getting a small community of Godbit users together on Digg so we could see all the resources fellow Godbit members dugg and find new websites/articles. Feel free to share your digg profile info in the comments and I’ll hope to see you there!

Nice! hehe cool that you submitted something that everyone liked. Hehe every time I submit something, apparently not many people share the same interest in it that I did. Oh well…one day…one day. :)

Thanks! Yeah, I was so surprised that other people actually “dugg” something I did I had to write this post ;).
I’m sure you’ll find something others will like one day!

BTW I’m going to add you to my friends list on Digg. I tried to add all of the Godbit people the other day, but after adding around 4 friends (one right after the other) Digg said I had to wait a while b/c I was adding friends too quickly. lol

LOL, you’re too fast for Digg. I guess it just a security measure so that people don’t flood their system and also so slow down spammers.
