Back from Denver
So, I recently got back from Denver Colorado. Man is that a nice town. The city is very clean, the buildings are very nice, and surprisingly the traffic isn’t horrible. Plus, the view of the Rocky Mountains in the distance is beautiful.
Over the last few years, I have been getting into more and more outdoor stuff. Colorado is definitely a nice location to do some great outdoor stuff. There are a ton of places to go hiking, skiing, rafting, camping, etc. all within easy driving distance of Denver.
Since I was on a business trip, I didn’t have any real free time. One night, me and a couple of co-workers drove about 60 miles to the mountains. We headed for the top of Mount Evans, but only made it about 12,000 feet. The summit is 14,200. We got close, but it was getting late, dark, and cold (even in August). It was a little over 40 degrees cooler where we were than it was in Denver. Crazy, but cool! If one of my co-workers didn’t have to be back at the hospital in Denver to do an audit test at mid-night we probably would have pushed on to the summit. Maybe another time.
