Technical Difficulties
I’ve ran in to some technical difficulties with one of my post last night. I was attempting to publish “Does AdSense Make Sense?” when I noticed that my demo ads did not work correctly.
It seems that Wordpress wants to semi-interpret JavaScript as text. I mean semi because Wordpress doesn’t actually post the code as text, but it does add <br /> after each line break in the Script even though I’m not using the WYSIWYG editor. So, I thought I would simply remove all line breaks in the code and solve the problem. No such luck. I thought about using PHP’s echo command to post the JavaScript but didn’t have time to try it because it was getting late and I had to get up early for work.
So in the next day or two look for my post “Does AdSense Make Sense?” Oh yeah, it might have partially shown up in my RSS Feed because I published it briefly before realizing that I was going to have technical difficulties.
I do believe a plugin offers a solution.
AdSense-Deluxe is an easy-to-use plugin for WordPress 1.5+ (including WP 2.0) for quickly inserting Google or Yahoo! ads into your blog posts, and managing when and where those ads are displayed.
However, I know that there must be an easier way to get adSense ads to show up in Wordpress posts. Does anyone have any suggestions or similar experiences?
P.S. Don’t worry; I don’t plan on abusing the ads. I just wanted to put some ads in that one post to make a point about how ads can be over used.
