Lo-Fi Faith Meme
This is my first time to be tagged for one of these memes. Thanks for the tag Robert! So here it goes.
1: List three (3) words that describe your faith.
Real, meaningful, and Growing
2: Describe a belief you are certain about and one with which you struggle.
I’m certain that Jesus Christ is God’s one and only Son, and that faith in and acceptance of Christ’s death and resurrection is the only way to heaven.
Over time I’ve struggled with the belief that once you’re saved, you’re always saved. After doing some Bible study and thinking it through, I lean pretty heavily on the once saved always saved side. It’s still a tough one though. If you’ve got any ideas on this one, I’d love to hear them in the comments.
3: What is your mission in life?
To glorify the King of all Kings. A God who is willing to send His Son to die a excruciating death on the cross for a sinner such as me deserves all the glory I can give Him.
4: Describe one thing that interferes with authentically living out your faith.
I’m a quiet person. It’s just a personality trait of mine; I guess you would call me an introvert. This makes it hard for me to talk and share my faith with a group of people I don’t know well.
5: What is your favorite story from the Hebrew Scriptures? Why?
The story of By Faith (aka the Faith Hall of Fame) in chapter 11 is my favorite. I like this story because it highlights many significant people in the Old Testament and points out how faith played a Old Testament—something we tend to forget.
6: What is your favorite New Testament story? Why?
There are so many…but my favorite would have to be the one where Jesus reinstates Peter in John 21: 15-19. I find it amazing that Jesus forgives Peter for his betrayal in Matthew 26:31-35. Not only was Peter forgiven, God allowed Peter to play an integral part in the early church.
7: Describe a meaningful action you took because of your faith.
Sometimes it is just the simple actions that mean the most. I guess one thing that I’ve done is to befriend a few people that most other people reject for various, trivial reasons. I think being a Christian friend to people like that can really have an impact for the kingdom of God. Not just on the person befriended, but also on others who watch what you do.
8: Does your faith differ from that of your parents? If so, how?
Not really. We have the same basic beliefs. I tend to question and study stuff a bit more.
9: Who or what was most important in the development of your faith?
Spending time reading the Word of God. I started reading my Bible daily around 7 years ago. Knowing the Word has really strengthened my faith by helping me understand who God really is.
10: Pass it on! Tag at least two other religious/faith bloggers.
I ‘m going to tag Matt Heerema and James Finley.

Hey Matt, this was a great read and fun to get to know about you a bit more. I too am a bit shy when it comes to face-to-face interaction. That can definately make sharing our faith a bit harder. May God continue to bless you!
Robert, I think the shy thing and Information Technology go hand-in-hand. I heard a statistic in my Project Management class that 75% of IT people are introverted, while only 25% of the general population is. I like things like this Faith Meme because it helps me share my faith through the use of technology.
