I hope everyone enjoyed the Memorial Day holiday this past Monday.I hope everyone enjoyed the Memorial Day holiday this past Monday. It marked the first day of summer and our temperature gauges are definitely proving summer has arrived. Matt and I spent our Memorial Day at the local Renaissance festival with some of our friends and had a good time. The pictures from that adventure will be coming soon. One of the things that always marks summer in my life is teaching Vacation Bible School. I have taught VBS for 6 years and I love it more and more each year. This year, like last year, I will be teaching Kindergarteners. Our Bible Schools starts this Sunday, June 4 and runs through Thursday, June 8. Please be in prayer for me and my team as we teach 4 and 5 year olds the good news of Jesus Christ!

Our first time at T-Ball
22May06 I have a really good friend at church that has an adorable 4 year old named Weston. Weston is a 4 year old going on 35. You would have to know him to know how neat of a kid he is. I hope the pictures from his t-ball game will give you some idea of his personality. Anyway…the day Matt and I decided to go to one of Weston’s t-ball games it was 50 degrees outside and raining. We thought we’d lost our minds until we looked out on the field to see the short stop with his glove in the air, hopping up and down, singing to himself. One of the outfielder’s hat was so big she couldn’t have seen to catch the ball if it had come her way…if she could have caught it in the first place. We stayed until the game ended and loved it. Enjoy the pictures!
One of the joys of spring…
15May06Last Thursday, Matt and I went to the house of one of the older couples in our church to pick strawberries. I had never picked strawberries before, but they are my favorite fruit so I thought we’d give it a try. After climbing over 2 barbed wire fences, going around two barns, and slipping in the mud, we finally found the strawberry patch. We only picked about a gallon and then it started to rain so we left. Our intentions when we made plans to pick the strawberries was to leave them for the older couple…to save them some work…so we left them hanging on their door handle (they are always leaving us produce on our door handle or on top of our car). Yesterday at church I got griped at by both of them for not taking the strawberries home with me. Oh well….so much for being generous…next time I’m taking my strawberries home with me!!!
